Santiago, March 16, 2016.- The Government of Galicia launched the single license of the Public Library Network of Galicia thanks to the implementation of a new integrated library management catalog only, sponsored by the Agency for Technological Modernization of Galicia (Amtega) and the Department of Culture, Education and University.

These measures enable users and users, for the first time and with a single card, access to the services of all the Galician libraries under this program and a collective catalog with all funds available for consultation online. The technical work of the professionals of the libraries also streamlines and standardizes to have a single system for managing all collections, whether physical or digital, which automates the process of cataloging, reservations, inventory or interlibrary loan. This was explained this morning at a press conference the director of Amtega Sea Pereira, and the Secretary General of Culture, Anxo Lorenzo.

Single license in 25 libraries and more than 900,000 titles
The single license is already a reality for users and users of 25 public libraries and agencies in which reading is operating the new system: the public libraries of regional management of Lugo, Ourense, A Coruña "Miguel González Garcés" by Pontevedra "Antonio Odriozola," Vigo "Juan Compañel" and James "Ánxel Couple"; and municipal public libraries of Ferrol, Vigo, of potters, the Slab, Sanxenxo and more Ortigueira.

In addition to offering more than 900,000 titles and about two million documents of these 25 libraries, the collective catalog of the Public Library Network of Galicia incorporates the funds of the Library of Galicia, libraries of institutions of particular interest to Galicia as the Royal Academy Galicia, the Council of Galician Culture, the foundation Manuel María, the foundation Vicente Risco and the Galician Center of Image arts, along with museums and libraries of files managed by the Ministry of Culture and Education.
