Cork County Library has extended its web catalogue to include photographs from the Horgan and Healy collections.  Cork County Library uses the Horizon LMS system from Interleaf.

Cork County Library has 28 branches and six mobile libraries throughout the county. The library service provides local communities with a comprehensive range of material for information, study and recreation.

Cork County Library continuously encourages the general public to get involved by providing a link on the County Library website with an “Ask a librarian” button. The library encourages members of the public to submit any information they have about any photograph in the collection by means of an information link.

The photography project shows how the Horizon Information Portal (HIP) Web Catalogue can be used to contain local information including graphical material, in order to provide specific information relevant to the local community.

The Horgan Collection is an album of photos documenting the social history, maritime heritage, landscapes and streetscapes of Youghal and its environs from the earliest days of photography and cinema in Ireland by Horgan Brothers’ Photographic Studio.

The James N. Healy Collection is a compilation of photographs, posters and programmes from the theatre archive of James N. Healy, a well-known Cork actor, writer, producer and founder member of the Southern Theatre Group.
